Online Safety
At Telford Junior School we are committed to keeping children safe online in school and giving children strategies to help them stay safe online outside of school. We also want to support families to keep children safe at home when using technology.
How do we support online safety at Telford Junior School?
When children join the school, we ask parents/carers to share the rules for using the internet safely, set out in our Online Safety Policy, which we ask children and parents/carers to sign.
We appreciate that the language in the policy is complicated and for this reason we encourage you to read the policy through and then explain to your child what is expected when they are using the internet.
In school, teachers will reiterate these messages throughout Computing lessons. While the policy is mainly in relation to children’s use of ICT in school our experience is that children of an increasingly young age are accessing the internet and social media out of school.
