Personal Development

Pupil arriving in school with his bike and cycling helmet.

The school's curriculum extends beyond the academic subject knowledge and skills pupils are taught. It aims to promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of the children, preparing them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life.

Involving Pupils in Supporting Charities

The Air Ambulance service held assemblies in school and the children raised funds in support of this charitable organisation.

Promoting Teamwork and Collaboration

There are many ways in which the school aims to promote teamwork and collaboration through our curriculum, such as our residential visits or garden activities in Design & Technology.

Values Education

The school's Ethos and Values sets out the strategic framework in which the school operates.

Through our PSHE lessons and assemblies, we promote twelve core values central to our values-based education, which are accessible to and understood by the children:

  • Respect
  • Freedom
  • Tolerance
  • Caring
  • Thoughtfulness
  • Co-operation
  • Responsibility
  • Courage
  • Honesty
  • Trust
  • Perseverence
  • Friendship

In teaching these values, we believe we are promoting the values of good citizenship, embodied in British Values.
