School Life

Telford Junior School is a busy and industrious learning community. Our Year Group Pages will show you the variety of activities and the wider curriculum we offer pupils. School life is enriched through the extra curriculum activities, which take place throughout the school year, as well as the clubs offered by outside providers.

Our School Day

8.45 - 8.55	School gates and doors are open to receive the children. The children head directly into school, met by teachers in their classrooms. A duty member of staff is present at the Kelvin Road and Telford Avenue school entrance to see the children in. Teaching assistants ‘meet and greet’ children in the corridors as they put coats and bags into their lockers.

We are open from 8.45am to 3.20pm (a total of 32.5 a week) and our compulsory times are 8.55am to 3.20pm (a total of 32 hours 5 minutes a week). The school day ends at 3.20pm

Parents/carers who drive or collect children in cars are requested not to park on the yellow zigzag lines or close to the school gates as this restricts visibility and makes it difficult for the children to cross the road in safety.
Similarly, for safety reasons and because of the restricted space, parents/carers are asked not to pull into the staff car parking areas at the beginning or end of the school day.
Please be mindful not to block access to local residents’ driveways.
