School Council

Our School Council members are elected by their peers, using a democratic voting system. The School Council represents our classes and is part of our pupil voice at Telford Junior School. They hold discussions in their classes and then feed back in their School Council meetings.

The School Council plays a vital role in our school community, by serving as the voice of the pupils and fostering a collaborative environment. Through regular meetings, the Council ensures that pupils' perspectives and concerns are heard, promoting a sense of ownership and responsibility. They initiate projects and work closely with Miss Herbert to enhance school life, thereby nurturing leadership skills and encouraging active participation in school governance.

One of their projects has been creating a school emotion tree, a vibrant display where students can express their feelings and share their emotional journeys. This initiative has not only provided a creative outlet for emotional expression, but also strengthened the bonds within our community, emphasising empathy and understanding.

The School Council also meet with the school governors, to discuss their goals for each year. The School Council's endeavours help to improve the quality of pupils' school experience and build a stronger, more inclusive school community.
